Realistic MC-1201 RestoMod Speakers (Pair)
BASS REFLEX 8 inch 2 way speakers. These Realistic MC-1201 Loudspeakers are a RestoMod Project that'll be done soon. It's a pair of vintage acoustic suspension speakers, approximate era: late 1970's. The cabinets and grilles are in good condition, but the real wood veener does need some refurbishing, which I will either sand and paint, or simply do the best I can to spruce them up with wood conditioner.
These speaker cabinets came stock with bracing and insulation. I utilized a Dayton Designer Paper Woofer and Peerless 1" Tweeter, with a 2nd order 2 way crossover of 3500 Hz. This is a ported design with a black acoustic felt covered baffle. These are a highly musical speaker with a pretty flat response, gentle roll-off and excellent transient ability. I think they'd be excellent for home theater also.

How Do They Sound?
So far, absolutely amazing. For sure, 100% the most... Well, I'm not sure how to put it in words, so I'll share my first listening experience: Wow, and weird in a good way. In the room with these speakers, it sounds like I've got a giant pair of headphones on. Sound seems to come from all around me, over me, through me... Very cool indeed!
Acoustic suspension speakers are known for having better transients. I would say these speakers demonstrate that and then some!
